COVID – 19 Information

Governor Lee’s Executive Order No. 15

Issued March 19, 2020 to facilitate the containment of COVID-19, this executive order suspends two sets of statutes pertaining to county clerks.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION EXPIRATION EXTENDED:
The provisions of T.C.A. § 55-4-104(a)-(d) are suspended to delay the expiration of all valid vehicle registrations set to expire between March 12, 2020 and May 18, 2020. These registrations will instead expire on June 15, 2020. The will return to their original renewal schedules in subsequent years.

DRIVER LICENSE EXPIRATION EXTENDED:
The provisions of T.C.A. § 55-4-104(a)-(d) are suspended to delay the expiration of valid Class A, B, C, D, P, and M driver licenses adn Class ID photo identification licenses set to expire between March 12, 2020 and May 18, 2020. These licenses will expire 6 months from the date they are currently set to expire

Governor Lee’s Executive Order No. 23

Offices of the Greene County Courthouse Annex will operate on a modified schedule beginning on Monday, April 6.  Offices of the courthouse annex will be staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to answer customer phone calls and emails.  Courthouse annex offices will continue to be closed to physical public access until further notice.

Greene County Citizens who purchased a vehicle during this modified schedule time, can contact the Greene County Clerk’s Office at 423-798-1775, 423-798-1708, or email Lori Bryant at lbryantcountyclerk@greenecountytngov.com, to obtain information on mailing in your Certificate of Title to the Greene County Clerk’s office to registration your new vehicle.  We also can figure the amount you will need to make your check before sending it to the address below:
